Green Street Academy teacher is finalist for Maryland teacher of the year

Green Street Academy special education teacher Ketia Stokes, who won the Baltimore City Public Schools teacher of the year competition in April, has been named as one of seven statewide finalists for Maryland’s Teacher of the Year Award.

 

The winner of the statewide competition will be announced at a special celebration honoring all seven finalists on October 11.

 

Ketia is the lead teacher for the Baltimore City Public Schools model site for teaching students with autism, which is located at Green Street Academy. Ketia chairs Green Street’s special education team and is an Autism Society of Baltimore board member.

 

Warnock Foundation chairman David Warnock is a co-founder of Green Street Academy, and the foundation continues to support the school’s activities.
